The Lanka Ashok Leyland DOST is a versatile light commercial vehicle (LCV) engineered primarily for last-mile logistics and urban goods transportation. It is designed to bridge the gap between small mini-trucks and larger pickup trucks, offering a high load-carrying capacity while maintaining a compact footprint that easily navigates narrow city streets and congested routes. Thanks to its robust build and practical load body, the vehicle is widely used for transporting agricultural produce, industrial hardware, construction supplies like cement and steel, FMCG goods, and everyday retail distribution.

The vehicle is powered by a 1.5 L, 3 Cylinder Diesel Engine with a Turbo Charged Intercooled setup that produces a Maximum Power of 59kW (80 hp) @ 3,300 RPM and a Maximum Torque of 190 Nm @ 1600-2400 rpm. Drive control and maneuvering are handled by a 240 mm, Single, Diaphragm Push Type Cable Operated clutch alongside a Power Steering system.
